Testimonies
Sharing the stories of what Jesus is doing in our midst is an important part of the culture at Abide.
Every testimony is a precious jewel, a proclamation of who God is and what He is like.
This is why we are very intentional about stewarding testimony. We recognize that when we tell Jesus stories and give all glory back to Him, it is honoring and glorifying to Him. We also recognize that if we do not tell the story — whether from fear of being misunderstood or even from a kind of false humility — we are actually robbing Him of the glory He deserves.
As such, we are committed to simply telling the stories.
No embellishment. No exaggeration. No self-promotion.
We simply tell the stories and point to the One who authored them.
And remember, a testimony doesn't have to look overtly supernatural to be worth telling.
Sometimes Jesus heals an incurable disease. But other times, He may lift a burden from your heart or bring a needed friend at just the right moment. We want to celebrate it all. Because wherever Jesus is, there is life, and everything He does is beautiful.
We also recognize that testimony has a unique capacity to build faith among those who hear. As we hear the stories of breakthrough, healing, freedom, and the countless ways Jesus is moving among us, we cannot help but say, “If Jesus can do that for them, He can do it again!”
And in fact, it is often the faith that is built through testimony that God uses to release future moves of His Spirit for more healing, freedom, and life.
Indeed, testimony is the logs on which the fire burns.
Thank you, Jesus! Come, Holy Spirit!
